AYC has regular drop-in group classes in three classifications:
Open – Practice for all levels of ability.
Basics – Easier program for cultivating & maintaining a strong foundation.
Community – Same as Open but at a discounted rate.
Those with acute injuries or chronic conditions are recommended to start with Basics, but all classes allow for adaptation to whatever ability. Sequences are designed to give an “all-body” program appropriate for the once-a-week student as well as the everyday practitioner.
For more information, see our About page.
AYC also has:
Chair Yoga – Breathing and moving together to increase mobility, strengthen muscles, and feel more at ease is for everyone. If you have limited mobility due to injury, illness or age, join us for our personal, breath-centered, therapeutic chair yoga class.
Prenatal – Prepare your body and mind for labor and motherhood while relieving many of the pains and discomforts of pregnancy. The classes are taught to embrace and accommodate both the novice and experienced yoga practitioner during this special time.
Baby & Me – (Postnatal) address the aches, pains and energy challenges of the postpartum parent (dads are welcome). You can attend postnatal yoga as early as you and your provider deem appropriate. You can continue to attend postnatal until your child is too mobile to supervise.
Explore – Designed to inform a regular asana practice by emphasizing your inner landscape without classical yoga poses. Through subtle engagements and guided inquiry, discover internal movement, greater sensitivity, and more awareness. This class is less physically active and more experiential.
Study Lab – On Sunday evenings, AYC students are invited to participate in a free lab. The lab may include some practice but is not a regular class, rather a time for people to voice considerations, ask questions, and delve into the practice in a intimate workshop environment.
